SUMMER PROGRAMS

Classes begin July 5, 2010 and go through August 12, 2010

The HFA Summer Art Programs are very special. Since 1972 they have provided a wonderfully creative learning experience for established artists as well as aspiring art students. The Programs are designed to supplement all creative endeavors.

For High School Art Students it is a very important hands-on experience leading to, and part of, the very successful Huntington Fine Arts College Prep Portfolio Program.

For Advanced Artists and Graduate Students it is perfectly set up for you who want to improve upon your facilities, working under the direction and dialogue of fellow working artist instructors.

ALSO...SELF PORTRAIT AND PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES: Mondays: 10am - 1pm

All mediums in painting, sculpture, or drawing — "a must" for any student preparing a portfolio for college.

...spend an enjoyable summer with your peers sharing your accomplishments and pursuing creative goals in a non-competitive, professional atmosphere.

PAINTING...FROM THE MODEL
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 7pm - 10pm

The model will assume the same pose for six sessions. Students will receive individual instruction in color analysis and with special attention to composition.

DRAWING...FROM THE MODEL
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 7pm - 10pm

Special emphasis on anatomy, charcoal rendering and use of various media. One-on-one instruction for each student. Each drawing class is followed by a critique and discussion.

SCULPTURE...FROM THE MODEL
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 7pm - 10pm

Each student will create a clay portrait or a full figure directly from the model. Individual instruction in capturing the essence of the subject with special emphasis on anatomical structure, proportion. The model will assume the same pose for all classes.

PORTRAITURE AND PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES
Mondays: 10am - 1pm
